What’s in Hunts Point, The Bronx, New York?
What’s the History Of Hunts Point?
This land was first purchased in 1663 by Europeans and as time went on, more New Yorkers came to Hunts Point. In fact, they flocked between 1850 and 1900 because of the convenient location of this neighborhood. Business grew and the reputation of this neighborhood being a great place to do business grew. By the 1970s, however, many residents -- almost two-thirds -- left the area, making it hard for the residents living there. A full-service post office opened in 2001, meaning the neighborhood is on the rise.
